Our Team
Our team are a unique group of individuals who all bring their own colourful characteristics to the Home. Staff here are dedicated to delivering the highest levels of care to those we support and making sure that they live as comfortably as possible. Most of our care staff have a minimum qualification of NVQ/QCF Level-2.

Marie Lake
Care Home Manager Hi, my name is Marie and I am the Manager here at Bartholamew Lodge. I hope you find what you're looking for on our website. Marie is a dual Qualified Adult Nurse and Midwife, with over 7 years’ experience working within the NHS and Private Sector. She completed her Mentorship programme and maintains her working knowledge with regular training and clinical skills updates. Although she qualified as a Midwife and worked for a period of time in Women’s Health, Marie’s nursing passion lay in Elderly Care and has specialised in Dementia and Palliative Care ever since. What's it like to live at Bartholamew
Bartholamew Lodge Nursing Home offers a range of facilities to ensure the highest level of comfort, safety and satisfaction possible for its residents. At our home we believe that everyone in our care should to be treated as an individual. The dedicated and experienced team of nursing and care staff provide appropriate care in a homely and stable environment, taking care to uphold resident privacy, choice and quality of life. Our residents are given choice in all aspect of daily living and each of them have individualised person centred care plan. All residents are treated with respect and dignity. We promote good communication between all parties involved with our resident’s care.
The quality of our service is maintained through regular staff trainings, supervisions. The management carryout regular audits to monitor the quality of the services we provide. The home get feedback from our residents and their families about the quality of the service we provide and make further adjustment to improve our service if required.
Bartholamew Lodge Nursing Home has 30 single rooms. All rooms have central heating and emergency nurses call system fitted. Rooms are comfortably furnished, and residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with pictures, ornaments etc. Our residents enjoy visits from various health professionals such as chiropodists and physiotherapists, occupational therapist and community matrons. We also have an in-house hairdressing salon. We offer facilities to accommodate all religious faiths. All housekeeping is done by highly qualified staff and laundry requirements are tended to in house.
A daily choice of well balanced and varied menus, with choice of fresh fruit and seasonal vegetables, meat, fish, poultry and dairy produce, is available. Daily menus are prepared in consultation with our residents; this enables residents to be provided with tasty and interesting meals of their choice which meet dietary requirements as well as individual preferences. Special dietary requirements can easily be met. All meals are prepared on the premises by our qualified and experienced catering team, Birthdays and special occasions are commemorated in style.
The home is in Wednesbury, which is a market town in England's Black Country, part of the Sandwell Metropolitan Borough in the West Midlands. The home is close to the town centre, commuter links, public transport networks, Community Parks, Museum, convenience shopping and leisure facilities.
