RDCP Care is a leading elderly and specialist care provider in the UK. We offer residential, nursing and dementia care services, enabling people to live as independently as possible.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To support residents, staff and relatives during these exceptional circumstances, we took the difficult, yet responsible, decision to close all Homes in our Group to Non-Essential Visitors from 12th March 2020. This decision was made to ensure that our main priority remains keeping your loved ones as safe as possible, by reducing the risk of cross-contamination.
Whilst our homes are still closed to non-essential visitors at this time, including family members and friends, should there be a situation that requires a non-routine visit such as end of life, your Individual Home’s Manger will work with you ensuring appropriate precautionary measures are in place to limit any potential risk. Vital medical visits are still made, when required, ensuring that those visits are by people who are not displaying signs or symptoms and that they wash their hands and have their temperatures taken on entering our facilities.
The housekeeping teams at all Homes are continuing to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, to reduce the risk of viral contamination on hard surfaces and staff members are no longer permitted to travel to work in their uniforms; they are changing in the Home prior to commencement of duties and changing back into outdoor clothes before they leave.
We are maintaining our stock levels of PPE throughout our Homes, to maintain the safety of our residents and staff. We have followed the guidance by Public Health, in line with Infection Prevention and Control and all staff are always wearing fluid repellent masks, regardless of whether there is any suspected COVID-19 in the Home, or not. We agree that this is the correct thing to protect both residents and staff from any possible infection.
Where we are able, we are apply the social distancing policy within our Homes, we are encouraging residents to stay in their rooms as much as possible, however with the warm weather, we have also been able to support residents to enjoy the outdoor facilities while maintaining the ‘2m apart’ rule.
All Homes are following strict Infection Prevention and Control Procedures and maintaining our good quality, person-centric approach to care and well-being provision throughout. We have set up facilities in each individual Home to try and maintain as much ‘virtual’ contact with your loved ones as possible, via Skype, email, telephone and FaceTime. Please contact the Individual Home your loved one is a resident in, in the first instance to discuss further, so that they may assist you fully.
We are confident that our staff will do their utmost to ensure that life in our Homes remains as comfortable and as sociable as possible, throughout this unprecedented period. Please be assured that we are continually adhering to the regularly updated guidance and advice provided to us through the World Health Organisation (WHO), National and Local Government and Public Health England and Wales to keep you and your loved ones as safe as possible.
Thank you for your understanding, patience and cooperation during this period. Take care and stay safe, and if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
