Petty Mhlanga
Home Manager

  • I have been a qualified nurse for 26 years and have built my career across a range of roles, including Nurse, Deputy Manager, and Manager. Over this time, I’ve developed a strong understanding of both clinical care and team leadership. I’ve been with the company for the past five years, starting as a nurse and progressing into my current leadership role.

I chose to work in care because of my genuine passion for supporting older people. I find it incredibly rewarding to build meaningful relationships, understand each person’s story, and make a positive difference in their day—no matter how small. Whether it’s offering comfort, encouraging independence, or simply being there to listen, I’m committed to delivering compassionate, person-centred care.

My key strengths include leadership and team development, delivering high-quality care, and maintaining safe and effective clinical practices. I also focus on clear communication, supporting staff through training and mentoring, and creating a positive and motivated team environment.

My approach is centred on openness, inclusion, and support. I encourage honest communication with residents and families, ensuring their views are heard and reflected in the care we provide. I also prioritise staff wellbeing, maintaining an open-door approach and supporting ongoing development so the team feels confident, valued, and able to deliver the best care possible.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures, which helps me stay open-minded and appreciate diversity. I also value spending quality time with my family, as maintaining a healthy work-life balance is important to me.
