I have been working in care for the past 14 years at Bearwood Nursing Home, where I’ve gained valuable experience supporting residents with a wide range of needs. Over time, I’ve developed a strong understanding of person-centred care and have grown both professionally and personally, building my confidence, skills, and commitment to delivering high-quality care.
I was inspired to work in care because I wanted to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I find it incredibly rewarding to support residents, ensure their comfort, and help maintain their dignity and independence. What I enjoy most is building relationships with residents and their families and knowing I can have a positive impact on their day.
My key strengths include strong communication, teamwork, and empathy. I have experience supporting residents with complex needs, building trusting relationships, and working closely with colleagues. I pride myself on being reliable, approachable, and always willing to support my team.
My approach is compassionate, respectful, and person-centred. I take the time to understand each resident’s individual needs and preferences so they feel valued and heard. I also focus on clear communication with families and creating a positive, supportive environment for my team.
I strongly believe in treating others with kindness and respect, both in and out of work. Outside of my role, I enjoy spending time with family and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I’m also passionate about continuous learning and always look for ways to improve my skills and provide the best possible care.
