I began my career in care around 11 years ago after previously working in pharmacy. Over the years, I’ve worked across nursing, residential, domiciliary care, and healthcare recruitment, although residential care has always felt like home to me. I progressed quickly into management and took on my first Home Manager role at Coton House in 2019. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I managed the home through an incredibly challenging time, which taught me a huge amount about leadership and resilience.

After gaining experience in other management roles, including as a Peripatetic Manager, I’m now proud to be back at Coton Grange with RDCP Care as Home Manager. It’s fantastic to work for such a supportive provider and be part of such a wonderful home.

I was inspired to work in care after supporting a gentleman living with Parkinson’s disease while working in pharmacy. A nurse told me the positive impact our conversations were having on his wellbeing, and that inspired me to apply for my first care role. Since then, I’ve never looked back. For me, there’s no better feeling than knowing I’ve made someone’s day a little better.

I’m very much a people person and pride myself on building strong relationships with residents, families, professionals, and my team. I believe in being visible, approachable, and hands-on, with an open-door approach for everyone. My ethos is simple — I would never ask my team to do something I wouldn’t do myself, and I make sure every member of staff feels valued and appreciated for the important work they do every day.
