Located in a peaceful and comfortable setting, our care home is designed to provide high-quality, compassionate care to 63 residents across two thoughtfully designed floors.

We pride ourselves on creating a warm and supportive community where residents can feel safe, respected, and part of a caring family. Our dedicated team of professionals is here to support each individual’s needs, whether it’s for residential, nursing, dementia, palliative, respite and physical disability care, ensuring that every day is filled with purpose and dignity. We offer expert care and support to people with a wide range of conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, stroke, heart and chest related problems, reduced mobility and dementia.

Activities and events

At our care home, we believe that staying active, engaged, and socially connected is essential to promoting the well-being and happiness of our residents. That’s why we offer a wide range of thoughtfully planned activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities. Whether our residents enjoy creative pursuits, physical exercise, or quiet time with friends, there’s something for everyone. Maintaining mobility in accessible ways through balloon exercises, indoor bowling, fun and games with regular bingo, raffles, jewellery making and crafting personal items such as painting on pots and glasses.

We strive to ensure that every resident feels active, valued, and part of our supportive community. Our dedicated team is always on hand to facilitate and encourage participation, helping to create a warm, joyful environment where residents can thrive.

We host a variety of regular events designed to bring joy and foster social connections, from seasonal celebrations like Christmas parties and summer garden parties to themed events such as visiting entertainers, cultural days, and charity fundraisers, there’s always something exciting happening. These events are thoughtfully planned to engage everyone, providing opportunities for residents to participate, socialize, and share special moments with friends and loved ones. Whether it's a live music performance, seasonal celebration, or a festive gathering, our events are a highlight of life at the care home, offering a sense of fun, community, and connection.​

Food and beverages

We believe that mealtimes should be both nourishing and enjoyable, offering a variety of delicious, wholesome meals designed to meet the individual needs and preferences of our residents. We understand that each resident has unique dietary needs, whether for medical, cultural, or personal reasons. Our dining areas are designed to foster a warm and social atmosphere, where residents can dine together and engage in lively conversation. For those who prefer more private dining, we also offer room service options. Our daily menu offers a wide range of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as nutritious snacks throughout the day, along with providing a selection of beverages, including teas, fresh juices, and coffee.

Hello, I'm Lincy, the Manager at Bearwood Nursing Home. I am a registered nurse and a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care. With over 10 years of experience, including nursing and specialized care, I bring a wealth of expertise to ensure our residents receive the highest standard of person-cantered care.

What I love most about my role is the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our residents and their families. Bearwood Nursing Home feels like a second family, and I’m proud to lead a team dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment.

My aim is to promote dignity, respect, and independence for all residents while fostering a culture of trust, quality care, and continuous improvement. Each day, I strive to ensure that Bearwood Nursing Home is not just a care facility but a true home where everyone feels valued and cared for.

Bearwood garden

Location

Our Home is in Smethwick, a small town in Sandwell which is 4 miles West of Birmingham City Centre and borders West Bromwich and Oldbury to the North and West. We are close to Victoria Park, Museums, convenience shopping and leisure facilities. Our residents benefit from frequent trips to these local ammenities, whether it be a pint at the local pub, a coffee trip, shopping or getting some fresh air and seeing the beautiful park. 

Accomodation and facilities

Our home provides residential, dementia and respite care for 63 persons. Each bedroom is thoughtfully furnished and features its own private ensuite bathroom, providing residents with both independence and privacy in a homely, supportive environment. Our rooms are designed with comfort and functionality in mind, offering a warm and inviting space for residents to relax and make their own. The ensuite bathrooms are equipped with safety features and designed to ensure ease of use, while maintaining the dignity and independence of our residents. 

There are 3 large lounges perfect for the running of our vibrant array of activities and events aswell as relaxing and providing a homely and comfortable area to enjoy visits from friends and family. In summer our residents love spending time enjoying our enclosed accessible garden area. Our residents enjoy food tailored to there individual tastes and preferences in our spacious dining room.
