Management
Vasilica Iovu
Care Home Manager
As the Home Manger of St. Nicholas House, I lead a professional team in delivering the highest standards of care for up to 49 residents with varying needs. My commitment to professional development has equipped me well for my role here, where I work hard to ensure that those in my care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive.
I graduated from nursing school in 2007, spent several years working in Romania until I took the next steps and applied for my first RGN position in the UK. In February 2013 I joined St. Nicholas House as an RGN and had the opportunity to be Nurse in Charge on shift.
Since then with continual learning and development, colleagues support and hard work in July 2018 I became Clinical Lead / Deputy Manager at the home. RDCP Care has continually given me support and the opportunity to develop my career and I finished my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services Adults’ Management in 2020.
I am so proud of what I have achieved and grateful for the support that I have received from all my colleagues. I enjoy all aspects of managing a care home, including making it homely for our residents and offering personal care based on individual’s needs. It is also important to me to support my staff to develop and succeed in their roles, in the same way that I have been supported in my development.I feel very privileged to be in a role which gives me such fulfilment and enables me to bring my knowledge, experience and skills to my team, who are encouraged to give the best care and support they can to our residents and their families.
